Hanmi Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting modern and contemporary Korean and East Asian art to an international audience. A uniquely positioned platform for artistic exchange between London and Seoul, the gallery fosters a cross-cultural dialogue between Eastern and Western contemporary art. With specialist knowledge in East Asian art, Hanmi Gallery London is committed to representing emerging and established artists from Korea and East Asia in a global context. Founded in 2011, the London gallery has a focus on new-media and interdisciplinary practices and represents video, performance and new media artists – supporting their participation in present day visual culture. In 2014 Hanmi Gallery Seoul opened in the Gangnam district, with a solo exhibition of the British artist Patrick Hughes. The Seoul gallery expands on the cultural interchange and aims to present British and European artists in the bourgeoning Seoul art sphere. Its vision is to be a resource for artistic movements from Europe in Seoul.

  • Jaye Moon's Interactive Art Project and Site Specific Installation at London Art Fair

    'Building a Shelter Together'
Jaye Moon also runs an interactive and participatory project Building a Shelter Together, where the audience can become part of the process via adding Lego blocks to the existing work, and are invited to bring their own building blocks for the structures to grow organically. After the project is over, the blocks will be donated to local charity organisations so that they can build shelters too.

    'Portable Housing'
Hanmi Gallery is also pleased to present Jaye Moon’s playful site-specific installation Portable Housing shown the Business Design Centre. Moon entangles Lego blocks within the existing architectural structure of London Art Fair, creating a space which encapsulates the essence of nomadic housing and an urban environment that allows visitors to become conscious of their surroundings.
