London Art Fair

This year’s London Art Fair attracted some 23,200 visitors. If you joined us in January - thank you – we hope you enjoyed the Fair and will join us again in 2011.

Galleries presented museum quality Modern British work alongside international contemporary art from emerging and established artists.  Strong sales were reported across the Fair as we welcomed major collectors, directors from public galleries and institutions as well as those visitors who buy regularly from the Fair.

Major sales included:
-  Paisnel Gallery reported the sale of a large Alan Davie painting from the early Sixties priced at £120,000.
-  Piano Nobile sold the Blue Dress (oil on canvas) by Harold Gilman for £95,000.
-  Monika Bobinska sold six works by Alex Pearl – sculptures, videos and drawings.
-  Foley Gallery (New York) sold eight pieces by American artist Thomas Allen.
-  John Piper’s rare early gouache and collage, Still Life 1933, sold by Offer Waterman & Co with an asking price of £55,000.
