Exhibiting at London Art Fair

Main Fair

Now entering its 22nd year, London Art Fair is the UK’s largest Modern British and contemporary art fair. Established in 1988, the Fair encompasses over one-hundred rigorously selected galleries presenting Modern British and international contemporary art.

Attracting 21,700 visitors, London Art Fair gives galleries the opportunity to renew relationships with existing clients and develop significant new contacts early in the New Year.  Visitors include major collectors and representatives from public and private institutions – museums, galleries and corporate collections – together with well-informed individuals who buy regularly from the Fair.

London Art Fair offers a uniquely welcoming atmosphere for galleries and visitors to meet and do business. Strong marketing ensures a steady flow of visitors with three evening receptions.

Art Projects

Launched in 2005 Art Projects has established itself as one of the most exciting sections of the Fair. This year it expanded to encompass 28 selected projects from galleries in Madrid, Venice, Beijing, New York, Frankfurt, Dublin, Belfast and London. Galleries reported strong sales and the forging of valuable relationships with collectors, new buyers, public galleries and other arts organisations. In some instances stands sold out whilst for others works were placed in important public collections.

Art Projects is open to UK-based and international galleries. Stands in Art Projects are subsidised by London Art Fair and cost £2000 plus VAT.

Applications for Art Projects should meet one or more of the following criteria:
• A solo show of an artist, presenting new and innovative work
• A curated group exhibition exploring a specific theme or aesthetic
• Installations or outsize work, inappropriate for a main fair stand

Projects in all media are considered.  All applications will be presented to the Art Projects Committee for approval.  The Committee will also be responsible for allocating stands in a way that maximises the impact and coherence of Art Projects as a whole.

Applications and further information on exhibiting at London Art Fair 2011 will be available online from March 2010.
