Brownhills and AXA Art would like to invite you to take part in their competition to win a striking, limited edition print, ‘Separate Ways’ by British artist Basil Beattie, especially commissioned by AXA Art and worth around £500.
One lucky winner will have correctly estimated the insured, pre-damage value of several crushed porcelain ‘cans’ (pictured right) by Chinese artist Xue Lei. Each can, intricately hand-painted in the traditional Chinese style, was mistaken for authentic litter by cleaners at a London gallery, and summarily binned. The cans were only retrieved the next day after a frantic search, a number of them cracked sadly beyond repair. They will be on display on Brownhills and AXA Art’s stand - where you can enter the competition.
