155A Gallery showcases a rotating collection of contemporary paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculpture in a series of themed, often material-led exhibitions that have a focus on the more formal elements of an artist’s practice.

Inspired by dynamically living gallery spaces such as Kettle’s Yard and Pallant House, 155A does away with the traditional ‘white box’ gallery model to present works with an architecturally domestic setting. The space—a former Victorian bakery—is a living, breathing interior that lets the works of art in it become real, surrounded by furniture and natural light.

155A Gallery was established in 2018 by director and curator Karen Akhtar, a former editorial and commercial photographic stylist, in Dulwich, SE London.
