Perve Galeria

Located in the historic center of Lisbon, Perve Galeria presents exhibitions of modern and contemporary art since 2000. The gallery develops and promotes nationally and internationally artistic, cultural and technological projects. One of its primary goals has been the dissemination of authors coming from the Portuguese-speaking countries, not only in the fields of visual arts but also of multimedia art and interactivity. Among the collections gathered by Perve Galeria is the one devoted to modern and contemporary art from these countries, called “Lusofonias | Lusophonies”. The collection aims to produce interactions and merge the gap between Africa, the Middle East, South America, and Asia and was already presented in different countries, namely Portugal, Senegal, and India. In 2013, the gallery launched a new museological space in Lisbon: Freedom House - Mário Cesariny that is a versatile artistic project, built in honor of the poet and surrealist painter Mário Cesariny de Vasconcelos, that hosts the artistic and documentary estate, bequeathed by the artist, along with some collections that began to be gathered from the beginning of the 90’s. During 18 years of regular activity, Perve Galeria has been participating in several important art fairs, such as London Art Fair, 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair, Art Dubai - Modern section, India Art Fair, Hot Art Basel, Art Madrid, Arte Lisboa, and, more recently AKAA - Also Known As Africa, Contemporary Istanbul, and Frieze Masters - Spotlight section.
