While the UK’s major galleries have historically been dominated by male artists, the metaverse provides a level field for female creators to claim their equal space. Chaired by Brooke Theis, Harper’s Bazaar, this panel will consider the opportunity the virtual-art market presents women; the ways in which female artists are building communities in the metaverse; and the women traders who are making their mark.

Brooke Theis is the features writer at Harper’s Bazaar, where she has interviewed figures from Cara Delevingne and Elizabeth Olsen to Heston Blumenthal and Anya Hindmarch, as well as artists including Krista Kim, Celia Paul and Tacita Dean. Specialising in art, culture, fashion and lifestyle, the former digital editor of Town & Country has also written for titles including The Guardian and Elle, and was a judge for last year’s WinTrade Women in Media Awards. 

 

Holly Wood founder of HollyWoodLabs.io, providing Web 3 insight to luxury brands including Burberry, Givenchy and Bacardi. Previously Head of Artist Relationships at Rarible, Holly has over 20 years of experience in the Creative Industries and has a roster of clients including Selfridges, LVMH, Dior and Soho House. With this knowledge and expertise Holly guides new adopters of Web 3 through the process of onboarding to optimize the myriad of ways in which Web 3 can amplify and elevate brand values and more closely align them with the new creator economy. Holly has been published as an expert in the space by Vogue Business and Harper’s Bazaar.

Based in London, Amada Maxwell heads up the Global New Business team for Artsy, the world’s leading platform for discovering and collecting art. Her team, spread across APAC, EMEA and the Americas, is responsible for establishing new gallery partnerships around the globe, enabling them to forge connections with the millions of visitors to Artsy every month. Previously, Amada led the business development team for leading visual arts magazine Apollo, where she was instrumental in the growth of the magazine’s partnerships with international institutions.
