SIMON WALLIS, DIRECTOR OF THE HEPWORTH WAKEFIELD 

Take a virtual tour of Simon Wallis’ Modern and Contemporary highlights from the LAF EDIT Viewing Rooms, including energetic ceramic work from artist Akiko Hirai, Beaux Arts Bath or powerful structures by Reg Butler, Osborne Samuel. 

Simon Wallis was appointed Director of The Hepworth Wakefield in July 2008, which opened to the public in May 2011 and celebrates this year its 10th anniversary.

Previously he was Director of Chisenhale Gallery in East London; Senior Exhibition Organiser at the ICA, London; and Curator at Tate Liverpool and at Kettle’s Yard, University of Cambridge. He studied fine art at Chelsea School of Art and subsequently at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA and gained an MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studies at the University of Manchester.

EVERYDAY OBJECTS PRINTMAKING

This practical printmaking workshop is suitable for all ages.

An interactive and experimental way to learn block printing techniques using everyday objects you can find at home.

This workshop invites you be imaginative at home to explore objects in a new way, creating your own block stamp designs and making playful patterns and interesting compositions.
